About the event

Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a platform for showcasing your talents.
● SIH is mainly useful for tier 2,3,4 colleges as they don&'t have enough opportunity for proving their talent.
● It contains 480+ problem statements (Simple to complex range questions. Both software and hardware category) by many popular companies.
● It has 3 crore worth prize money.
● You will be assigned mentors once the idea is selected.
● The main aim of this SIH is to make the young generations familiar with the real life problems that companies are working for, and with rapidly growing technology.

Registration

You cannot directly submit the idea just by reading the problem statements. There is a process devised for this:
● You should register for submission of the idea. Click here to REGISTER
● The team should contain six members and in that at least one female should be present otherwise the team will be disqualified.
● The team may contain members from different departments but they should belong to same college or institution.
● The team should fill the consent form and get signed it by the HOD's or DUGC's ,the format is available on the webpage.
● THe team should get confirmation through single point of contact (SPOC).
● Single team name, one person should only take part in one team.
● Single team can propose to one or more than one problem statements.
● If team donot know the SPOC of their institution,no worries,as soon as the team leader registers, the name of the SPOC will be displayed.
● If in any institute SPOC is not appointed, then any of the Professors can apply to it by filling the consent form and get it approved by the higher officials of the institute.

Evaluation Criteria:


● Feasible
● Scalable
● It has to be practical
● Sustainable.
● Potential for future scope should be there.
● The companies or the clients who had given the problem statements should be able to understand and they should feel that this idea can be taken forward.
● Ideas has to be presented in prescribed format ,the format is present on website.

Other instructions

● Nodal centers will be announced in the first week of January, so that you can book tickets.
● Finale will be held in first half of the March.
● 2 mentors can accompany the team.
● Travel reimbursement will be provided for only students.
● You can also submit ideas even there is no problem statement regarding that idea. They will also be showcased and rewarded.
