IIT Bhilai with support from Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) proudly announces a One-day National Workshop on “Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights” to be conducted on August 24, 2019.
The workshop will feature keynote talks and lectures by leading IPR Experts & Patent Attorneys in the areas of IT, Communication, Electronics & Materials Science.

One-day National Workshop on “Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights” In association with MeitY
IIT Bhilai organized One-day National Workshop on “Awareness on Intellectual Property
Rights” In association with Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) on 24th
August, 2019. More than 220 participants attended the workshop which included around 200
students and 20 faculty members. The main objective of the workshop was to sensitize students
and faculty members on Intellectual Property Rights.
The workshop comprised of three talk by eminent speakers and panel discussion/interaction
session. Dr. Raj Kumar Hirwani, Director, CSIR-URDIP (Retd.) was the Chief Guest of the
event. In his keynote lecture, Dr. Hirwani emphasized on Patinformatics For Research and
Business Planning. Dr. A. K. Garg, Director, Innovation and IPR Division, MeitY mentioned
about the MeitY IPR initiatives, while Mr. R. Saha, Senior Advisor, Confederation of Indian
Industry gave a talk on ICT-related Patent Filing Trends Enforcement of IP Rights.
Prof. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Bhilai addressed the audience and mentioned about the
importance of Patents for Academicians.
